That the Parliament welcomes what it sees as the success of the third Spirit of Stirling Whisky Festival, which was organised as part of Scotland’s Whisky Month and was held on 10 May 2014 at a new venue, the iconic Stirling Highland Hotel; understands that visitors were able to sample some of the best whiskies that Scotland has to offer, with over 30 distilleries and brands exhibiting on the day and 200 different whiskies available to taste; believes that, each year, tickets for the festival have been sold out and that it provides a boost for Stirling’s economy; wishes the organisers continued success, and hopes that the festival will return in 2015.
Proposed by Richard Simpson MSP
